Harvest Season Across the Treasure Valley

October in the Treasure Valley means crisp mornings, turning leaves, and farms opening their gates for harvest season. Whether you want to pick a pumpkin straight off the vine, get lost in a corn maze, or just sip cider while the kids run through a straw maze, there's something within a short drive no matter where you live.

Here's where to find harvest activities across the valley.

Emmett

The Farm in Emmett is back for its second fall season with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, sunflower field, and Highland cows you can feed with pumpkin treats. Three Sisters Greenhouse hosts Mumkin Fest with pumpkin picking, a hay maze, and a giant bounce pad. And the orchards up the hill are a classic stop for apple picking.

Meridian

Ten Mile Farms opened a new pumpkin patch with a corn maze, hayrides, barrel trains, and straw slides, open through October 30. Pumpkin Palooza on Chinden Boulevard is an urban patch with a hay maze, corn pit, petting zoo, and wagon rides, running through Halloween. The Farmstead near Eagle Road runs one of the valley's longest-standing corn mazes, with pig races, a jump pillow, and a haunted field on October nights.

Kuna

Lowe Family Farmstead is the big one, and it's worth the drive. It has a sprawling pumpkin patch with over 55 varieties, tractor-drawn hayrides, a flower field, and farm animals, running September 12 through October 31.

Nampa

Shindig Farms has one of Idaho's largest straw mazes, a pumpkin patch, giant slides, a zipline, and wagon rides. On Friday and Saturday nights in October, the maze turns into a haunted straw maze. The Berry Ranch on Highway 20 lets you take a hayride to the patch and pick pumpkins still attached to the vine.

Caldwell

Cherry Hill Farms runs an 8-acre corn maze and a u-pick pumpkin patch, with Apple Days in late October. Lovely Hollow Farm offers a relaxed day of u-pick pumpkins and flowers along Chicken Dinner Road.

Boise

Jordan's Pumpkin Patch on Cole Road keeps things simple with no cover charge, plus pumpkins, a corn pit, and activities for all ages.

Star

Jeremy's Pumpkins has been a local patch on Star Road for 36 years, with straw bales, pumpkins, and corn stalks.

A few tips before you head out

Hours shift with the season and the weather, so check each farm's page before you go. Weekday afternoons are quieter than weekends. And bring layers, because Idaho fall mornings can start cold and end warm.

However you spend the season, this is the time of year that reminds me why I love calling Idaho home. If you're thinking about making the Treasure Valley home, or you're already here and want to talk through what's next, I'd love to hear from you.
